Finally....

A real snowman!!! Court and Maddi constructed this snowman tonight at around 6pm. Maddi was thrilled that they actually made a "real snowman." The snow was just wet enough for them to pretty much do whatever they wanted to with it. After they finished making him Maddi ran inside and told me, "Momma! There is someone here to see you on your birthday!! Come see who it is!" And this is who I found waiting outside for me:-) Ya gotta love em'

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Just wanted to take a minute to wish everybody a very Happy Thanksgiving! We have already enjoyed our turkey dinner and we are all completely stuffed! We hope that everyone's dinner was as good as ours and we hope that you all enjoyed being with your family and friends as much as we did. May God continue to bless all of us and remind us that we have so much to be thankful for!

From an itty bitty snowman to this????

I guess you could call it a North Carolina version of an igloo. Or a snowglobe without the roof according to Maddi!

Not much happening...

As you can tell by the lack of updating, there has not been a lot of excitement in the Rose's household. We have been busy, but some things are not really worth talking about. However, here are a few photos that we took of the girls this past weekend. We do have a pretty busy week, as I am sure every one of us do, so we will take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope that all of us will take a minute and thank God for all of the blessings that he has given to each and every one of us. I know that Mark and I have a lot to be thankful for and we have been truly blessed in so many ways. To our family back home in North Carolina, we send our warmest Thanksgiving wishes to all of you. Just because the many miles may seperate us does not mean that we are not together in love, thoughts and prayers. We love all of you and we are especially thanking God for you and praying that your Thanksgiving is truly wonderful!! Once again, Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Well it is at our house anyway. See what a day full of snowy weather does to me? I put the tree up and decorated it yesterday. Maddi has drove me nuts wanting to decorate for Christmas. She sees it everywhere else and thinks that our house should already be decorated too. Well I got a head start anyway. Still have a little bit of shopping to do, but I have a good amount done. Yeah!!! Hope to have everyone but those in my house done before Thanksgiving. Believe that one and I will sell you a bridge somewhere, but it does not help to hope does it?? Well enjoy the rest of the week as I am sure that we will not be updating for a few days. I know that is what I said in one of the previous posts, but who knew that our first big snow was gonna happen so soon???LOL!!

Playing in the snow!!!

Two post in one day! Wow! Guess our lives aren't as boring as we thought;-) Here are a few photos of the girls and some of their friends playing in today's snow. According to Mark, we got 6 inches and these kids enjoyed every little flake of it. One little boys pants were so frozen that he could not even move them. They can handle the coldness a little better than I can. I guess that is why I grew up on a beach and they grew up here!! Although my little beach bums become snow bunnies as soon as the snow begins to fall. I am just glad that they make the best of being outside no matter what the weather is. Maddi did not get to make her snowman because the snow did not want to stick together well enough, so she settled for making snow angels instead. She did not like her hands getting cold, so she came in long before the other kids!!

We're covered.....

Well I guess we have an update a little sooner than we thought. When I got out of bed this morning to go and get Court up for school, I thought that it looked a little brighter than normal outside. When I went to the sliding glass door, I noticed a lot of white stuff all over the place. Our yard and everything around us was completely covered in a white blanket of snow. Whenever my little sleeping beauty decides to crawl out of our warm fleece covered bed, she will be absolutely thrilled. She kept telling her Daddy over and over yesterday that we were going to have "a real snow" tomorrow and she was ready to build a snowman with buttons and a hat and ...... Her little mind nor mouth stops. I don't know just how successful she will be with building that snowman, but you can bet that we will be out there trying to. We will do our best. Well enjoy your Monday as I am sure we will be outside freezing while she gets her fill of the freshly fallen snow;-) Until next time, here are a few photos.

Nothing new...

Hello out there in blogger world! Sorry that we have been a little short on the updates lately, but there has not been anything real exciting for us to post. We have kinda spent the day inside being lazy. After church, we had a good Sunday dinner, a few visitors, and lots of doing nothing. Plenty that needs to be done, but not a lot accomplished. Oh well, tomorrow is Monday and we will start all over again. Well have a good week and we will post again as soon as we have something half way worth talking about;-) Love ya all!!!!

Our first snow?!?!

Yes we had some snow today. I know for those of us that live here in Michigan, it was not a "real" snow, but for our friends and family in NC, it was snow. At one time I was in the backyard playing with the dogs and it was actually coming down pretty good. Well when I was outside, the girls came rushing out and found that the tramp was nice and slushy, so they decided that they were going to come and jump and slip and slide on it. Oh well they may have been excited when they saw the white stuff today, but they will be sick of it by March;-) Most of it today was little white ice balls that looked as if a bean bag chair had been busted, but we did see some actual snowflakes mixed in here and there.

Crazy NC girls loving this little taste of winter

Looks like fall has met a bit of winter too!

Just a little dusting

Fall Turkey

Not a great photo, but Mark shot this turkey this afternoon. He once again killed something a little different. This one had 3 beards. Not three colors, but three different beards. Poor little Tom Turkey didn't escape the Thanksgiving table this year:-( Although I must admit, he will NOT be my Thanksgiving turkey! LOL !!!

Just a few photos of us dressed up for the Halloween party that our friends had on Sat. night. I actually won the costume contest:-) Did not expect that! We had a really good time.
