Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween Friends! Here are just a few of the photos of the girls at their Halloween party last night. Once again we had a blast. Good food, good spooks, and lots and lots of laughs. I am sure that we will be posting again tonight or tomorrow with the girls in their costumes. Until then, hope you all have a wonderfully spooky day!!

Trick-or-Treating in Holland State Park Campground
Well we had a GREAT time trick-or-treating with our friends and their families at Holland State Park campground. It was a little windy and chilly, but the rain stopped, held off and the fun went on:-) From what we were told, this is a yearly thing before the actual night of Halloween and what a great idea it is. Campers and their families decorate their sites and hand out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters. No traffic to worry about and the kids just run around and get all of the candy that their little hearts desire. After the kids collected all of their treats, our friends had cooked different soups and we enjoyed a warm dinner with them and then had some good fellowshiping around the fire afterwards. A good warm up for the 31st!! If this did not get them in the "candy" mode, then I do not know what will!

Taylor Swift concert
Courtney, Leslea, and Maddi got a chance to go and see their FAVORITE country singer on Tuesday night. They are all very big fans of Taylor Swift. Courtney knows every word to every song and Leslea is not far off. Maddi is really fond of her too, but she especially loves the song, "Picture to burn". She cracks us up when she hears that song. She gets in the "singer" mode and seriously sings and dances to it. She is just too funny. She did a really good job and stayed awake for the whole concert. I think that the girls really enjoyed themselves, as did Mark and I. So glad that we could give them this opportunity and enjoy it with them. I think that we made some wonderful family memories that will stay with them for a lifetime!!!

Maddi's play time with daddy
Today was a wet, cool, windy day in West Olive so there was not much to do outside. Maddi waited patiently for her daddy to come home from work so that he could play with her. When he arrived she immediately informed him that they were going to make a castle and he was the king, she was the princess, and I was the dragon, but I had to be a nice dragon and not a mean one. Wonder what she is trying to tell me:-) That stinking dragon would not let her destroy the house for the 15th time so they just had to use our house as their castle:-( Oh well they had a good time. Here are a few photos of them dressed as the King and the Princess.

Deia and I
Just a quick photo of my friend Deia and I heading off to go and see Celtic Thunder in concert thanks to my wonderful husband. He kept our girls and Deia's daughter Brigitte so that we could have a little time away from the kids. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. We will have memories to look back and laugh about for years to come!! As you can tell in this photo, she is already full of laughs!! This chuckle can actually be blamed on Courtney for making silly faces behind Mark.
Wow!! What a busy weekend we had here at the Rose residence. Our Saturday started out with Courtney having to go and help out with the Leaders of the 21st Century fundraiser. It was her group of leaders that had to raise money for this years group of upcoming 7th graders that are nominated to be leaders. The money that is raised goes towards the new leaders camp at Hope college in Holland, MI during the summer of 09'. Courtney enjoyed this camp very much and wanted to make sure that she had a part in helping the new leaders have the same opportunity that she had. It was great. The day started out a little on the chilly side, but by noonish the sun was shining beautifully and it was a very comfortable day. We could not have asked for a prettier day. Man were we ever thankful!! Here are a few photos of some of the things that the girls enjoyed doing. One of the photos is of Maddi coloring a mural and signing her name by the dragon that she colored. Then one is of Courtney painting Maddi's face. She had to have a happy spider with gold eyes. Court did a really good job and she actually pleased her little sister. All of the other photos are of them having fun on the inflatables. They had a great time there on Saturday. We then had to come home and fix goodies for the church dinner to welcome our new pastor and his family. Mark was watching the girls that evening so that one of my friends and I could go to Grand Rapids and see Celtic Thunder in concert. The Coast Guard was given free tickets so he insisted that I have an evening out with a friend and I took him up on that!!!! We had a good time!

Maddi's first school picture day
Well today was Maddi's first school picture day at South Olive Christian School. She was excited but also a little nervous about how to smile. We all know just how yucky school pictures are, so I decided to take a few before and after she went to school just incase we totally hate the ones that were taken at school. It was a little chilly this morning. There was frost on the ground and ice on my car windows, but she still insisted on wearing this little short sleeve dress. We just bundled her up and sent her on her way. She did say that her pictures went good and she told me that her smile looked great! Mind you, all I saw was teeth and eyes that looked like she had just seen a ghost or something. I guess we will have to wait and see just what they look like whenever we get them back! It should be interesting:-)

Spirit week at West Ottawa Schools
Here are just a few photos of the girls this past Friday. Last week was homecoming for West Ottawa Schools and on Friday, they had to show their school spirit by dressing in black and white. Well Maddi was mildly decorated and Leslea gradually got a little more spirited and then to say the least, Courtney went all out. She was just one of the many middle schoolers at Harbor Lights that really showed their spirit. They all had a good time getting "defaced".
